Well, today was a significant day. Significant because Obama took the oath of office? No, that just gives me a sad and hopeless feeling. Significant because I just received my last payment from The Texas Workforce Commission and still don't have a job. I don't see any light at the end of the tunnel with this new administration. I hope they prove me and Millions like me wrong!
I have 30+ years experience in the restaurant industry and was Wrongfully Terminated by my last employer, McDonald's. I'd like to do something about the violation of my rights, but nobody seems to want to go up against a giant like McDonald's. It's sad but pretty typical of the way things go nowadays. It's not good enough to be in the right anymore. To get ahead today, you have to be without a conscience and unfortunately I had one implanted in me by my parents.
It's not that I haven't tried to find work, I've made over 500 job contacts! Employers today are in complete control, they can pretty much do what they please and suffer no consequences. I was Terminated through no fault of my own, but try to get a prospective employer to get past that! All they see is that I was fired!
